This weekend was the big Extra Life event, and it as a blast. I started playing and streaming around 5:30 pm Friday night and stopped around 3:30 pm Sunday. Donations are still being accepted, but I'm officially done and back at work. As of 8am this morning, Extra Life has raised $5,102,500 for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In the last 6 months, I've had repeated issues with my 3D printer. First, the hot end / extruder goes bad, the manufacturer doesn't have any more in stock, so I have to buy one from another company and modify it to fit. Then, the system has problems reading files, even ones that have already been printed before and I just want another one of, so I spend weeks messing with that. Mix into that a series of small but annoying issues, and I'm ready to punt this thing off the top of a skyscraper. My friends and I have participated in Extra Life for several years now. The guy who runs my gaming group has done it for 7 years (I'm only on my 4th year, personally). What is Extra Life? Extra Life is a gaming charity event where we urge people to donate to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Last year, Extra Life raised $4 million for the Children's Miracle Network.
